Episode 00 · The Beginning

Wood · Metal · Honest Reviews

Where it starts

An empty slab.
A big plan.

Taylored Creations starts here — with a building, a concrete floor, and a long list of ideas. Over the coming months I'm turning it into a full woodworking and metalworking shop, and I'm documenting every decision along the way: the layout, the tools, the mistakes, and what I'd do differently.

No sponsors steering the story. No filler. Just real builds, real numbers, and honest opinions from someone who has to live with the results.

What's coming

Three things, done right.

Everything on this channel falls into one of three buckets. If it doesn't help you build something better or buy something smarter, it doesn't get made.

Shop Buildout Series

A multi-part video series following the shop from bare walls to fully dialed: layout and zoning, lighting, power, dust collection, compressed air, storage, and custom workstations — with plans and cut lists where it makes sense.

Multi-episode

Non-Biased Reviews

Tools and shop gear tested in real work, not on a showroom table. I tell you what I paid, how I got it, what I liked, what annoyed me, and whether I'd buy it again — with long-term follow-ups when the honeymoon wears off.

Zero paid placement

DIY Projects

The occasional build for the home, the shop, or the property — furniture, fixtures, jigs, and fixes. Approachable projects with clear steps, honest time estimates, and the lessons learned the hard way.

The build log

The road map.

Here's the planned order of the buildout series. Episodes get linked here as they go live — order may shift as the shop teaches me things.

Planned

Cyclone dust collection, ducting strategy, and a hard-piped compressed air line through the shop.

EP 03

The Miter Saw Station

Planned

A 16-foot modular miter station with integrated dust extraction and push-to-open storage — full plans and cut list.

EP 04

Table Saw Upgrade

Planned

Fitting new fence rails and building an outfeed/extension table that actually stays flat.

EP 05

Benches, Counters & Storage

Planned

Work surfaces and storage built around the tool chests — plus making use of every wall bump-out.

EP 06

The Storage Mezzanine

Planned

A clear-span mezzanine to reclaim overhead space without giving up floor.

EP 07

Sparks Fly: The Metal Corner

Planned

Setting up for welding and metal fabrication — ventilation, fire safety, and keeping sparks away from sawdust.

The review pledge

Honest by design.

Most "reviews" are unboxings with a discount code. These won't be. Every review on Taylored Creations follows the same rules, every time.
